Facilities and Services of Parc Vro

Parc Vro is a small 15 bed duel registered residential home. It is run by Abigail Bidgood and a team of dedicated health care assistants many whom have been employed for ma number of years with in the home. As a small home, all staff roles are interchangeable with both office and cleaning staff also holding qualifications in healthcare. We ensure that adequate numbers of staff are on duty 24 hours a day to meet the assessed needs of each individual resident.

The number, qualifications and skill mix of staff working in Parc Vro may vary as we review the number and care needs of residents accommodated on a regular basis or as their needs change. There are a minimum of two staff on duty as healthcare assistants at all times, there is also the manager, clerical staff, maintenance staff and a cook. At night time there is one waking night healthcare assistant and one healthcare assistant on call.

We seek to appoint the most suitable staff group as possible, with a variety of skills and personalities, qualifications and experiences, but who share the organisations values and philosophies of providing high quality care.

Staff will only be appointed following rigorous recruitment procedures, which include references, proof of identity and Criminal Bureau checks.

We consider staff training essential to ensure that our high standards of care are met and that residents can expect to receive their care in an individualised manner. Training is provided on an on-going basis, with all staff required to receive annual updates in all statutory areas as well as additional training to meet the on-going needs of service users.

Where necessary we provide staff with specialised training to ensure special care needs are able to be met, and we encourage and support staff to undertake further education in order to maintain and improve their knowledge and skills. For example, NVQ’s in care. Parc Vro’s total staff establishment is 15 of whom 12 have duties involving direct care for residents. 88% of healthcare assistants hold an NVQ 2 and / or 3 and above and the remaining staff have many years’ experience working in the health care sector.  Those who do not hold an NVQ qualification and have been newly recruited are supported to achieve the care certificate in line with regulatory requirements.
